SA20 Season 2 Rules & Regulations.

The pace of play will be protected without suspensions with captains charged with in-game penalties for slow over-rates through fielding restrictions.

The home of Betway SA20. SA’s explosive T20 cricket league: 6 global franchises, 6 cities, 34 matches, 114 local and international players.

There has been an amendment to the free-hit rule, a bowled dismissal can’t lead to byes if the ball ricochets off the stumps.

There will be two strategic time-outs of two minutes, 30 seconds in duration in each innings. The time-outs are to allow the teams to re-group tactically.

Six powerplay overs will be implemented where only two fielders will be allowed outside the 30-yard circle.

In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to progress through to the final and those to play in the playoff will be determined as follows:

The team with the most number of wins;

  • If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points;
  • If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate;
  • If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins;
  • If still equal, the team with the highest runs to wickets ratio throughout the tournament;
  • If still equal, the team with the highest wickets to runs ratio throughout the tournament.

In a match declared as a no result, run rate is not applicable.

SA20 Format

  • While the tournament structure remains consistent with the inaugural season, where each of the six teams confronts all others twice, the playoffs format has been altered.
  • In the second season, the SA20 will embrace the qualifier-eliminator approach. The top two teams from the league stage will vie in the first qualifier, with the victor directly securing a place in the final. Simultaneously, the teams placed third and fourth will engage in an eliminator, seeking a chance to progress.
  • The team emerging triumphant from the eliminator will face the losing side of the first qualifier in Qualifier 2, a match that will determine the second finalist. This change in the playoff structure injects an element of unpredictability, ensuring that even the teams finishing third and fourth have an opportunity to contend for a place in the final.

Live Streaming & Broadcast Details

  • The match will began on 9PM IST, and on Double Header days it wil be on 5pm respectively.
